As the famous quotation from Sharon Salzberg goes, “Voting is the expression of our commitment to ourselves, one another, this country, and this world”.

As we participate in the upcoming Barangay and SK Elections, we will not just be casting votes – the Filipinos will be showing their commitment to our dear country.

The Department of Education, being the biggest national government agency, plays a vital role in the Barangay and SK Elections come October 30.

We are one of the trustees that will extend hands in safekeeping the right to vote of our countrymen. Hence, our Office is reminding officials, teaching, and non-teaching personnel not to engage in electioneering and conducting partisan political activities in relation to the forthcoming 2023 Barangay and SK Elections.

Guided by the Philippine Constitution, and in accordance with existing rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), DepEd ensures that our personnel, who will serve in the elections, are focused on public service and will shield themselves from the unpredictability of politics.

We then commit ourselves to champion a clean, safe, and fair elections on October 30, for our children, and for the future of this nation. May God bless us all.
